Proposal · April 2026

A new website
for W1 Working

Following our call on 9 April, here's exactly what we'd build, how long it would take, and what it would cost. Two options to pick from.

Prepared by Launchfyi for Ben Ward

Build Process

How we'd work together

Five phases across eight weeks. You'll always know what's happening, what's coming next, and what we need from you.

Week 1

Discovery

Before we design anything, we need to understand what you want to achieve and what your taste looks like.

  • Kick-off call to align on goals, voice, and priorities
  • A short brief for you to fill out on your audience, tone, and what 'good' looks like
  • We ask you for 3 to 5 websites you love (any industry) so we understand your taste
  • Content audit of your existing site so we know what to keep, rewrite, or drop
  • Sitemap and content plan signed off before we touch design

Weeks 2 to 3

Design

We design in code, so what you see is what you get. No static mockups that look different when built.

  • A few different homepage designs for you to choose from, built as real working pages
  • Two rounds of design revisions built into the scope
  • Sign-off on the homepage look and feel before we build out the rest of the site

Weeks 4 to 6

Build

The main development phase. Every page, every feature, every integration.

  • Front-end development of every page listed below
  • Custom admin panel so you and Tessa can manage content yourselves
  • Product browser with search, filters, and categories
  • Google reviews and Instagram / LinkedIn feed integrations
  • Enquiry form wired into your inbox and/or CRM (Slack notifications available too)

Week 7

Content & Polish

Everything in place. Now we load real content, tune performance, and run the whole thing through its paces.

  • Loading in your content, case studies, and product data
  • Photo optimisation and image compression so the site loads fast
  • SEO metadata for every page
  • Accessibility and performance tuning
  • Cross-browser and device testing

Week 8

Launch

Switch over and go live. If you're on the retainer, this is just the beginning.

  • Walkthrough and sign-off with you
  • Butterlinks analytics set up (cookieless, privacy-first, no cookie banner needed)
  • DNS switch so the new site goes live without downtime
  • Admin panel walkthrough so you know how everything works
  • Post-launch support for any quick fixes
What We'll Build

Every page, every feature

Here's exactly what the new site includes, page by page, and why each one earns its place.

Homepage

First impression. Tells your story in 30 seconds and points people to the right section.

  • Bold hero with your positioning: technical advisor, not salesperson
  • Featured brands preview showing the sliding-scale concept
  • 3 featured case studies that rotate as you add new ones
  • Client logo wall (Dior, Virgin Atlantic, BBC, Global Radio, 20th Century Fox)
  • Live Google reviews feed pulled in automatically
  • Short About W1 teaser linking to the full page
  • Clear contact call-to-action in the hero and footer

About W1

Builds trust. Lets your personality and W1's 22-year story come through.

  • The company story starting with your dad, 22 years of history
  • Meet the team: Ben and Tessa, with photos if you want them
  • The 'you call me and I sort it' ethos in full
  • Values and how W1 actually operates day-to-day
  • Showroom and Clerkenwell location information

Brands

Your biggest differentiator. Turns the sliding-scale idea from our call into a proper page.

  • Introduction explaining how you think about brands: price, quality, service level
  • Brand cards grouped by tier, with clear positioning for each
  • Filter and sort by tier, type, or budget
  • Every brand gets a short write-up: who they are, why you recommend them, when they're the right fit
  • Links from each brand card through to relevant product pages

Herman Miller Spotlight

Herman Miller is your anchor supplier. It deserves its own dedicated section.

  • Dedicated landing page for Herman Miller
  • The history, philosophy, and why you champion them
  • Full product browser with search and filters
  • Categories for seating, workspaces, and storage
  • Each product links through to its own dedicated page

Product Detail Pages

One per product, auto-generated from the CMS. Good content here ranks on Google and in AI search.

  • Image gallery and key product details
  • Relevant specifications tailored to each product
  • Related products and case studies where applicable
  • Direct enquiry form so visitors can ask about a specific product
  • Adding a new product takes minutes from the admin panel

Case Studies

Proof. Concrete examples of work you've delivered for clients people recognise.

  • Gallery view of every project with filters by industry and product
  • Each case study has its own detail page with a full write-up
  • Brief, challenge, solution, photos, and outcome for each
  • Client testimonials embedded where possible
  • You can add new case studies from the admin panel as projects finish

How We Help

Removes ambiguity about what you actually do. Filters out time-wasters.

  • The consultation process explained step by step
  • Specification, quoting, and budget guidance
  • Supply, delivery, and installation
  • After-sales: maintenance, support, and ongoing advice
  • Clear CTAs for each service type

Reviews

Social proof. Pulls in Google reviews automatically and uses structured data for SEO.

  • Full wall of your Google reviews, auto-updating
  • Long-form testimonials from case study clients
  • Structured data so Google shows your star rating in search results
  • Helps with AI search tools like ChatGPT when people research you

Contact

Where visitors turn into real leads.

  • Single enquiry form with project type and budget fields
  • Lands in your inbox and/or CRM (Slack notifications available too)
  • Direct phone, email, and WhatsApp links
  • Office location and map
  • Optional link to your calendar for people who want to book a call directly

Legal Pages

Privacy policy and terms. Standard but necessary.

  • Privacy policy
  • Terms of business
  • Accessibility statement
  • No cookie banner needed, since we use Butterlinks for analytics (cookieless and privacy-first)

Need additional pages? Just let us know.

Under the Hood

Infrastructure & tech

The stuff visitors never see but that makes everything work. Included with all three options.

Modern stack

Built on Next.js 16 and React, the same tech powering some of the world's fastest websites.

Fast on every device

Loads in under a second on mobile, scoring 90+ across Google's performance metrics.

Search visibility from day one

Proper technical SEO including structured data so Google and AI tools like ChatGPT can read your site.

Privacy-first analytics

Butterlinks is a cookieless analytics tool, which means no cookie banner, full GDPR compliance, and a cleaner visitor experience.

Custom admin panel

A simple CMS so you and Tessa can update content without needing a developer.

Secure and backed up

SSL, daily backups, and uptime monitoring all handled. If anything breaks, we know before you do.
